Now that gaming is the world’s biggest entertainment form, here’s a look back at the top ten gaming eras throughout history.

1. Early Days

Video games first leapt to the public’s attention in the 1970s with the introduction of the Atari Pong game. Although the game offered a simple black and white format with extremely limited gameplay options, it truly introduced us to the joys of modern gaming.

Similarly, the 1980s were also the decade that introduced the concept of home computing to many homes. With companies like Amstrad, Spectrum and Commodore providing affordable computers to many homes, there followed a range of titles like Jet Set Willy and Elite that allowed players to enjoy bedroom gaming for the first time.

The effects of the the internet provided many desktop and laptop computers with the edge they needed to compete in the gaming sphere.
